More Earth Will Fall

More Earth Will Fall is a feature-length documentary that tells the story of daily life for a family in Rio’s biggest favela, Roçinha, as they strive for a different life and try to navigate the stresses of gang violence and governmental neglect in their neighbourhood.

The score was made in the same vein as the film was shot – making a minimal imprint over how the story is told and it’s interpretation. Rather leaving the viewer to experience as much of the intimacies in the footage that Co-Director’s Sam Leibmann and Lee McKarkiel were able to capture.

The score features a placid, warm electronic world that mirrors Roçinha’s calm yet brittle atmosphere and is interspersed with field recordings from the surrounding areas.
