A collaboration with composer Peter Wiegold to construct a sonic world evocative of the power, violence and awe of the famous JMW Turner painting housed in the National Gallery.
An 8-Channel system was used to spatialise the sound of both a live Harpist and sound design, which underpinned the composition as it unfurled.
The piece was commissioned for the launch of National Gallery X, a new studio within the grounds of the gallery which will provide a space for the arts, science, technology and humanities to cross-contaminate during residencies and events. Speeches by Tim-Berners Lee, Google and Nicky Morgan inaugurated the space.
The work is also part of an ongoing artistic research collaboration with Kings College in development of their own ‘3D’ spatial sound technologies.
